1) Maintenance Technician

Description - The safe an efficient operation of our production machinery is all part of the success of Bolthouse Farms, Inc. By joining our company as a Maintenance Technician, you will be an important part of that success. Primary responsibilities include performing technical maintenance, repairs, installations, and preventative maintenance tasks on department equipment in support of production. Maintenance Technicians also ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements, and troubleshooting on motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications; all in a food grade environment.

Duties
  • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Troubleshooting major and minor malfunctions of equipment.
  • Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Qualifications
  • 2+ years experience as a Maintenance Technician in a food Grade environment.
  • Experience using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
  • Exercise good judgment by performing work safely and in conformance with regulatory agencies as well as company standards.

2) Electrician

Description - At Bolthouse Farms, Inc., we process a lot of carrots. Over 30,000 tons per month and this requires a lot of electricity. As such, we are in need of highly skilled Industrial Electricians to maintain our electrical systems throughout the facility. Primary responsibilities include troubleshooting 120/480VAC motor control circuits, including motor testing, variable speed drives and soft-starts from motor condition diagnosis to PLC control. Duties
  • Answering trouble calls to maintain maximum uptime on all electrical systems throughout the facility.
  • Monitoring proper Lock-out/Tag-out and other safe work practices.
  • Troubleshooting major and minor electrical malfunctions of equipment.
  • Assisting with the commissioning of new equipment installations.
  • Performing preventative maintenance of electrical systems including servicing motors, control panels, changing relays, etc.
Qualifications
  • 3+ year's recent experience in a manufacturing or processing facility.
  • Experienced in reading and red-lining electrical drawings.
  • Knowledge of NEC compliance.
  • Ability to design and layout standard panels.

3) Equipment Operator

Description - At Bolthouse Farms Inc, we use sophisticated processing equipment to turn out the highest quality products on the market. In order for the process to work properly, we hire highly skilled Equipment Operators to ensure that the equipment is producing high quality product in a safe an efficient manner. An Equipment Operator's primary responsibilities will include completing a set of detailed tasks that ensure the effective and safe operation of production equipment while at the same time maximizing production to meet the high demand of customers. Bolthouse Farms offers a fast paced, dynamic work environment, so ideal candidate will be positive, willing to work hard and react quickly under pressure.

Duties
  • Maintain logs of instrument readings, test results, and shift production, and send production information to computer databases.
  • Collect samples of materials or products for laboratory analysis.
  • Communicate processing instructions to other workers.
  • Measure or weigh materials to be refined, mixed, transferred, stored, or otherwise processed.
  • Monitor material flow and instruments such as temperature and pressure gauges, indicators, and meters, in order to ensure optimal processing conditions.
  • Set or adjust machine controls to regulate conditions such as material flow, temperature, and pressure.
  • Other duties as specified by supervisor.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 - 3 years experience as a process equipment/machine operator.
  • Willingness to work in extreme temperatures (35°F - 95°F).
  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends.

4) Production Shift Manager

Description - Joining Bolthouse Farms as a Production Shift Manager means starting in a junior-level management position with an established, state-of-the-art processing facility. Duties will include monitoring plant equipment via computer systems and directing plant production schedules and personnel. This position often operates as a training ground for plant production management positions within the company.

Duties
  • Train, supervise and mentor a shift of process equipment operators and productions workers in the safe and efficient operation of the plant.
  • Operate Plant controls and communicate shift information to ensure efficient flow & proper attention to process control.
  • Maintain accurate production, process and quality records.
  • Troubleshoot complex process equipment bottlenecks so as to address throughput issues.
  • Communicate changes in product flow, equipment speeds and/or settings to appropriate plant personnel.
  • Anticipate product and process changes to make necessary adjustments in order to maintain the highest quality of product.
  • Maintain Plant Schedule of Breaks and Lunches
  • Provide leadership and training in the areas of Employee Safety, Process Control, and Product Safety.
  • Oversight of up to 4 different product lines and 30 personnel.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree (Business or Technology focused).
  • 3-5 years experience in a leadership position, preferably in a food processing or manufacturing
  • Ability to formally and informally present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and peers.
  • Command over mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and conversions.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions in a systematic fashion.
  • Ability to interpret technical instructions from equipment manuals and documented instruction sheets.
  • Ability to quickly understand the mechanical function of food processing equipment.
  • Ability to communicate complex, technical process information to cross functional groups including Maintenance, Quality Control, or Engineering.
  • Experience with World Class Maintenance and Lean Manufacturing techniques.

5) Microbiologist

Description - Quality has always been one of Bolthouse Farms’ most important product features and is one of the factors for which our customers rely. Not only do we pride ourselves on producing the highest quality, premium products available, we also ensure that all of our raw materials are kept to the same standards. As a Microbiologist, you will supervise and work independently in a food microbiology lab to ensure identification and control over all microbiological activity within raw materials and out going products. The microbiologists works independently and in groups to develop Standard Operating Procedures for Micro detection and prevention methods.

Duties
  • Taking samples of raw materials and finished goods and interpreting/evaluating data to find possible sources of contamination.
  • Testing includes yeast & molds, SPC, E.Coli, Staph, Salmonella, Listeria and others.
  • Environmental monitoring and swabbing manufacturing equipment and walking surfaces, preparing media, collecting Micro data for analysis, recording relevant information and generating various reports, acting as a liaison with other departments on microbiological and sanitation issues.
  • Participates in a corporate quality assurance program for various plant facilities by maintaining records of each process facility and verifies that testing is performed correctly and all instruments are operating correctly per GLP policy standards.
  • Documents test results for auditing purposes and provide summary reports to management on a monthly / quarterly basis. Works with R&D in the development of new products and participates in process studies and shelf life determination. Approval of validation aspects of new equipment, products & processes.
Qualifications
  • BS /BA degree in one of the following areas desired: Microbiology, Biology, Food Science, Chemistry, Food Engineering or a related area. Equivalent experience in a related field may substitute for education.
  • 3 + years in a food-processing environment desired.
  • Strong Interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership skills as well as ability to troubleshoot non-conventional micro issues.

6) Quality Assurance Lab Technician

Description - Quality has always been one of Bolthouse Farms’ most important product features and is one of the factors for which our customers rely. Our Quality Control Lab Technicians are at the front line ensuring that are customers stay happy. As a Lab Technician at Bolthouse Farms you will be responsible to carry out, under supervision, routine quality control product analyses, line pre-op inspections, enforce plant specific GMP’s, prepare pre-shipment sales samples, assist with new product development testing, and maintain lab supply inventory.

Duties
  • Analyze samples for chemical, physical and microbiological attributes.
  • Perform plant audits, maintain and organize quality control data by computer data entry.
  • Prepare Certificate of Analysis, samples for shipment per sales request, and other simple reports.
  • Assist with product development when required.
  • Maintain lab and analytical instruments in clean and working conditions.
  • Communicate any results outside the defined ranges to your supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Perform and complete various job-related duties as directed by the supervisor.
Qualifications
  • Must have a High School diploma. Equivalent experience in the related field desired.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English, bilingual is preferred.
  • Must have good mathematical skills.
  • Must be able to lift between 10 and 25
  • Must be able to apply common sense, understand and carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form.
  • Knowledge of computer applications such as Excel and Word a plus, but not required.

7) Pump Mechanic

Description - Bolthouse Farms is one of the largest fresh carrot producers in the nation. In addition to our farming operations we are also a leading producer of all natural fruit and vegetable beverages. Water is the life blood of our operations. Bolthouse Farms is seeking a qualified pump mechanic to support both our plant, and field operations. If you are up to the challenge of working in a fast paced, ever changing environment, we have the job for you.

Duties
  • Perform diagnostic testing and repairs on food grade, and agricultural related pumping systems.
  • Tasks will include troubleshooting and repairing positive displacement pumps, drives, water transfer pumps, deep well turbine pumps, various power transmission units, etc.
  • Exercise proper judgment in the processing of work orders and making decisions with respect to conserving company resources.
Qualifications
  • Must have three years of pump mechanic experience, trouble shooting and repairing pump systems, knowledge of farm equipment is a plus.
  • Experience with diesel and gasoline power trains and related electrical systems is a plus
  • Must be able to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and sketches.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English in both written and oral forms.
  • Must have good mathematical skills and able to demonstrate an excellent eye for detail.
  • Must be able to apply common sense, understand and carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
  • Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds.

8) Auto/Diesel/Heavy Equipment Mechanics

Description - Bolthouse Farms is currently seeking highly skilled Mechanics to support our automotive, truck and heavy equipment maintenance division. Individuals will primarily be responsible for diagnosis, troubleshooting, and performing routine maintenance on a variety of different equipment. We currently have over 200 vehicles in our fleet. It is no wonder it takes over 40 highly skilled mechanics to support this effort. With our farming business continuing to grow and expand in size, opportunities for greater responsibilities exist for individuals who demonstrate superior and reliable work performance.

Duties
  • Perform diagnostic testing and repairs on farm tractors, construction equipment, carrot harvest equipment, and diesel engines.
  • Tasks will include troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems, air conditioning systems, and hydraulic systems.
  • Exercise proper judgment in the processing of work orders and making decisions with respect to conserving company resources.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent with 3 to 5 years experience in diesel/automotive technology.
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License.
  • The ability to read and understand mechanical drawings, schematics and sketches and previous experience in fabrication/ light welding is a plus.
  • Additional Training and/or certifications in trade a plus, but not required.
